They needed 41 off 2 overs to win and did it with 4 balls to spare!
Matt Crouch finished 67no as he blasted Petersfield to victory after some great bowling from Nicky Caddick. Put into bat Sarisbury set a difficult total of 146. Caddick just conceded 12 runs from his 3 overs in a very controlled spell. Alex Thomas was sharp again behind the stumps and Rory Newman started to find his length.
Petersfield put on another good opening partnership with Crouch and Thomas. Crouch retired at 25 and Petersfield could not quite get up to the run rate needed. Aran Murray and Ben Cox ran well between the wickets to get Petersfield past the 100 mark before Crouch returned to spoil Sarisbury's dreams of their first win of the winter.

Colts' Coaching Starts
There was a great turn out for all age groups last Friday as the colts' coaching got underway at Bedales. U9s, U11s, U13s and U15s all had a good number of players attending. Thanks to the number of coaches and assistants volunteering to help the club have at least 3 coaches and assistants per age group and will also be running specialist coaching sessions for as many boys and girls as possible during the coming weeks.
The U7s and girls get underway on Friday 21st at The Petersfield School.

Senior Indoor Team Notch Another Victory
Petersfield put XIIth Men into bat and bowled extremely tightly to restrict them to 84-4 off their 12 overs. Pick of the bowlers were Will Rice (2-4), Shaun Blanks (0-19 off 3) and Jack Hannam (1-19 off 3). Rice (24) and Hannam (17no) then took the overs they had to reach the total with the XIIth Men being very generous with their wides. Rice holed out with only 2 runs needed.
This puts Petersfield temporaily into 2nd place in the league with 4 wins out of 6.

U16s Shock Unbeaten Purbrook
Our U16 indoor team played tremendously to beat Purbrook who were unbeaten in the league. Matt Crouch 27no and Alex Thomas 27no put on a solid opening stand with both retiring as Petersfield reached 118-2 off their 12 overs.
This was followed by a superb fielding display with Ben Friend involved in 5 wickets with 2 catches and 3 run outs. Jordan Hiscock bowled accurately getting 2-23 and the other wicket was picked up by Aran Murray. With 16 needed off the last over, Spears hit Murray hard for what we thought would be a 6 only for Ben Friend to throw himself between the wall and the bowl and hang on to the catch.
Matt Crouch is currently the leading run scorer in the league.
Congratulations to all the team!
