Petersfield Seniors Move to Top Spot

Petersfield won their latest indoor match against Bedhampton to move to top of Division 4 of the Indoor League. However with Emsworth and Hambledon having games in hand promotion is still out of our hands and dependent upon others' results.

Put into bat, Petersfield got off to a disasterous start as Will Rice went first ball and Shaun Blanks third ball. Chris Salmon and Jack Hannam steadied the ship and Salmon played a great innings to quickly get to 25 and retire. He was replaced by Matt Salmon who continued the good work. Hannam was dismissed for 18 and Liam Charles soon afterwards and it was left to the Salmons (Chris 40no and Matt 32no) to take the team through to a respectable 130 off 12 overs.

Shaun Blanks and Chris Salmon restricted Bedhampton early in their innings and they were soon well behind the run rate. Salmon took a caught and bowled but Petersfield were not making inroads and soon the batsmen started to gain momentum. They came very close with only 11 needed off 3 balls but Blanks kept his line and length and forced 2 run outs off the last 2 balls of the innings to see Petersfield home.

Their final match is on Sunday 6th February against Locksheath
