Petersfield Panthers U9 v Portsmouth U9A – 2oth May
Petersfield Panthers U9 v Portsmouth U9A – 2oth May
After the previous weeks game against Hambledon was abandoned due to rain with the game delicately poised, Petersfield Panthers U9 continued their good start to the season with a useful win over Portsmouth.
Bowling first Seb Browning and David Evans took 3 wickets for 13 runs in their allotted 4 overs to get Petersfield off to the ideal start. However strong legside hitting from the Portsmouth middle order rallied the score to set a target of 259.
A steady start by Petersfield saw no loss of wickets for the opening pair but runs were hard to come by against an accurate Portsmouth opening attack. Petersfield were beginning to slip behind the required run rate until Zac Franklin (18) and Louis Wadsworth (11) steadied the ship and saw them through to a comfortable winning total of 290
