Fantastic evening at the Heath for the first Panthers' home game.
The lads couldn't quite topple Ropley despite some fine individual
performances from Ben T (50 ret'd) in our total of 139 and 1 for 16 with
the ball, two wickets for Ollie and a lovely knock by Ben A as well.
But after taking 3 early wickets, the Ropley nos 4 & 5 batted very
well - it was almost pitch black by the end – to chase it down in the
19th. Nevertheless it was a fine effort all round by AT's Panthers. Another wicket, just a few more runs, and who knows?
Thanks to the Raiders, who were a great bunch of lads, and BIG THANKS
to everyone who came to help and support - especially Iain Simpson, who
is an absolute legend on the BBQ. And Blowers and Bumble (aka Dave Sq
and Frank), who bossed the PA, even when giving the home ump some gyp!
Everyone had a good time, raised some money for the club, great game of cricket - what better way of spending a Friday evening!
Next home fixture tbc. Will keep you posted.

PS. By popular demand, I will be selling CDs of the funky music mix we
used at the Heath tomorrow. I know you all loved it so much...
