Petersfield Under 11a v Burridge U11

Well nice to see the sun for a change. Petersfield won the toss and put Burridge in.

Despite Burridge only scoring 18 runs with the bat, the lack of practice showed with 50 extras!! But chasing 69 to win we were confident.

But the pitch was not providing any bounce and the ball got lower and lower....

William hit the first two full tosses for 4 and Ossian also hit a lovely front foot drive for 4, but with the next ball dying on him, he was bowled. Two great catches accounted for Charlie and Jack and we were all out 16 runs short with two overs left.

The pitch was really slow and had very little bounce, which got less as the game wore on. Very difficult to bat though we did score more runs with the bat than Burridge.

We need plenty of sunshine to hopefully give the pitch some life.
