Petersfield U11As vs Fareham

On a Sunny Sunday morning Petersfield travelled to Fareham. Fareham duly won the toss and elected to field. Seb Kay and Ed Milford opened for petersfield. They moved the score along with some excellent quick singles before Seb was bowled by Ben Thomas. Joe Eglestaff joined Ed and they took the score to 30 in the 7th over when Ben Thomas grabbed his second wicket, bowling Joe. This brought Matt Friend in to bat and Ed and Matt kept the runs flowing. Ed retired on 20 with the score on 62 and Ossian Tate joined Matt. Matt retired in the 16th over for 20 with the score on 78. Ben Anscombe was next in and he and Ossian pushed he score along. Ossian raced to 18 with two big fours before being adjudged LBW going for a sweep in the last over. Ben had fallen with the score on 109 caught of Sahu. Joe Clarke and Kit Classen saw the final few balls out and Petersfield finished on a respectable 111 for 4.

Fareham opened with Matthew Donoghue and Sam Foster but a direct hit from a Joe Clarke throw resulted in an early run out. Matt Friend removed Ben Thomas before Saju started to score runs. Ossian Tate came on to bowl and claimed the wicket of Sam Foster. In his next over he was on a hatrick, bowling Connor Chalton and then Cameron Rumbles with successive balls. Seb Kay grabbed the wicket of Matt Fitsell but Saju retired on 21. Ed Milford bowled Elliot Clarke who score a good 19. Henry Dix was ran out and Ben Anscombe bowled Harriet Todd to close out the Fareham reply on 80 for 9.

Petersfield win by 31 runs.
