Petersfield U11B vs Portsmouth and Southsea

We batted frst and we put on 44 runs for the first 8 overs, unfortunately their wicket-keeper started to play very well and they managed to take 10 wickets so our total was 240.

Batting highlights were Camerons 18 runs, followed by Thomas with 8, Jack with 7 and Tommy with 6. If we hadn't lost 10 wickets we'd have had a score of 290.

With a modest total of 240 to defend, we had to get off to a good start, our bowling was excellent throughout, the first 8 overs they only scored 10 runs which was tremendous. The game was always close, but they just pulled ahead towards the end and won by 14 runs.

The difference in the match was we took 5 wickets to their 10, which was mainly down to their wicket keeper stumping our guys when some of their bowling was slow and looping encouraging our guys out of their creases to hit the ball, which gave him the chance. Our bowling was much faster making stumpings much harder for us.

Standout bowling performances from Harvey who bowled 3 overs for 10 runs and took 2 wickets, Thomas who bowled 3 overs for 7 runs and took 1 wicket, Tommy who bowled 2 overs for 5 runs and took 1 wicket and Ben Kay who bowled 2 overs for 9 runs and took 1 wicket, but as I say everyone bowled well, we gave away far fewer extras this match, keep up the good work.
