On a very windy and drizzly evening the U9Bs did the club proud with their enthusiasm and determination. Batting first they defended well and only lost 3 wickets. Jamie Allardice top scored with 11 - hitting his first 2 balls for 4. Max Mullen scored 8 and Theo Truss 4.
Petersfield finished on 264. The calling and running between the wickets was excellent.
As the wind got stronger and the drizzle wetter, Petersfield fielded and at the half way point Portsmouth and Southsea were 231-2. Alex Chun bowled straight and fast and got 2 wickets. However with fingers beginning to freeze and the ball getting wetter it was difficult for the bowlers to keep straight and a few too many wides meant that Portsmouth and Southsea sneaked home by 14 runs.
