Monday evening saw the Petersfield girls travel to Grayshott for a 20 over game. Bowling 1st Petersfield started well taking 4 wickets and restricting Grayshott to only 27 runs after 12 overs with the wickets being shared between Katie P, Emma and Jess with Emma taking another caught and bowled chance from her leg spin bowling. Some fine power hitting from the last Grayshott pair, who hit 4 fours between them, took the closing score to 86 for 5. Katie P, who is rapidly establishing herself as one of Petersfield’s best fielders this season, taking a fine catch in the deep off of the final ball of the innings.
In reply Lorna and Leah started well for Petersfield scoring 18 runs from the 1st 4 overs, but once again wickets fell at regular intervals to leave Petersfield ever so slightly ahead on 29 for 4 after 12 overs of their reply. Despite matching Grayshott’s boundary count in the last few overs the wickets continued to fall leaving Petersfield on 53 for 7 at the close.
Jess top scored with 16 runs with Lorna batting well in support. Both Katie’s and Chloe topped the bowling with some good all round fielding supporting the bowlers well.
